Reflection and Self-Assessment
Integrative learning fosters students sense of self as a learner, and their metacognitive skills, through regular self-assessment and reflection by encouraging regular, repeated opportunities to consider the content of the course, the connections between the course content and their career and academic goals, and the connections between the course and other courses they have taken. These opportunities are essential to ongoing student success because they not only advance the student's lifelong learning, fostering motivation, and enhancing their critical analysis and self-assessment skills.
